Welcome to my classroom!  This is my 9th year teaching at Kilmer Elementary and my 8th year of teaching Kindergarten.  I also have experience teaching first and second grades.  My kindergartners enjoy learning through exploration, games, and direct instruction in both small and large groups.  Although kindergarten is no longer just playtime with cookies and milk, we do play to learn and regularly have special units that involve snacks!  I strive to incorporate music, movement, play acting, games, and puppets to facilitate learning and appeal to the five year olds playful spirit.  Kilmer emphasizes the whole child, and each month a particular character trait is taught and highlighted. Students are recognized in the classroom for positive behavior and encouraged to do their best on a daily basis.  I can be contacted at 757-1654 (work) or lcavera@lewispalmer.org.
